Cha-Cha says Hi-Bye

bit of a story here. back in elementary school, I met a kid who was from Japan, living in America because of his dad's job in the travel business. he was our good friend for a long time, but eventually he had to go back. sometimes he is able to come back here once a year, and I decided last minute to try and draw him a picture. only problem: I had no idea what he likes!!! so I asked another one of my friends who was really close to him, and he suggested Cha-Cha from Monster Hunter. turns out he hasn't played the game in ages, but him and his mom kept saying "sugoi" which, last time I checked, means "awesome"

first time drawing anything from the series, much less this character. im... not sure what to think. it took me the better part of 3 hours, and I had to rush to get it done. I was initially planning to do a full circle of grass around him, but I ran out of time, so I started experimenting, and I like it a lot more than most grass I do. less is more, hopefully.
