Maja The Keke (redone)

well, this character page has been sitting in my stash.e for way to long, 'bout time I got around to writing it out. (p.s. please excuse the crappy quality of the shading: I actually drew this waaaaay over a month ago.)

I decided to give her a more mature body, but the same maja face, just to make her childish mindset more clear. however, she came out far more adult-ish than I intended while drawing this, so my apologies for that.

appearance: unlike other kekes, maja actually appears has legs, although she wasnt born with them. apparently annoyed with being short, she experimented on creating legs for herself, and after several disastrous attempts it worked. she wears a black dress with green rims and a green belt with a gold buckle. she has puffy green pants (which hide the fact that her legs are fake) and plain white shoes. her long silver hair is puffy/curly in the front, and straight in the back. two black cat ears stick out from the top of her hair. her eyes are almond shaped, and she has long canines, which are almost always visible, even when her mouth is closed.

history: during her childhood years on Rock Star, maja lived completely carefree with friends and family. but when dark matter began to invade the planet, maja was possessed and used by the invaders for years. under the control of dark matter, her not yet developed magical abilities began to expand and warp to frightening heights, and so she was sent to attack a nuisance of zero's army: forta and hiko. she nearly overwhelmed the duo, but forta managed to cut the dark matter out of majas body. finally awake after nearly a decade of forced sleep, maja found herself with the mindset of a child and the body of an adult, not to mention magic past boiling over. unsurprisingly, she instantly clung to the first people she saw, and thus began following forta and hiko around like a lost puppy kitty. when the grumpy ninja kira joined the group, maja instantly cuddled right up to her, first just to bug her, then because she became quite fond of her. (NOT LOVERS. GET THAT THOUGHT OUT OF YOUR HEAD.) after the group was disbanded, maja wandered for a while, then had a very scared and lost simirror named raito dumped on her head. she took raito in as her apprentice, although their drastically different magic strengths causes some major problems between them.

personality: she may have the body of woman, but maja has the mind of a child. she can be obnoxious, loud, rude, naive, yet still have a sweet childlike innocence. she doesnt know when to shut up, and this has gotten her into several tight spots. one thing that people do not immediately suspect maja of being is reliable, and are always surprised when she never backs down. her determination to protect those she cares about can be rather frightening, and she seems to have no fear of death or pain, nor truly understand the concept. one especially loathed aspect of her personality is her habit of experimenting with her magic on others, most usually to blow something up, whether it be purposeful or not. she is prone to violent mood swings, going from sad to furious to happy and looping back to sad in under a minute (a personal record). maja loves making new friends, although her new friends seem to be rather unhappy about the relationship...

abilities: as with all kekes, she was born with a natural gift for magic. but while possessed, her powers became massive and warped, and due to lack of any sort of training, she has trouble controlling them. disturbingly, she has no problem using black magic. curses, hexes, and shadow wielding all come as easily to her as breathing. one of her most infamous spells, one she has affectionately nicknamed "Game Over," is a powerful draining spell, which sucks the life energy out of whatever she touches. it is not a long-distance spell, and she can only use it if she is touching whatever she is trying to drain. in terms of physical ability, she is quite agile and acrobatic, able to make quick flips and leaps. thanks to her enchanted totally not fake legs, she can pull off powerful kicks and is able to run like nobody's business.

tools: her dress is enchanted so she can store an unlimited amount of items within her sleeves and call them back at any time, from toys to ingredients to things that she forgot about years ago. however, as with many magical things she owns, the spell tends to glitch and spit out items at random times, or not release them when she needs them. the item that she is most often using is her broomstick (it does in fact fit in her sleeve, albeit not very well) and it is the one enchanted item of hers that does not glitch out, most likely because she stole it off of another keke as a child, and thus did not actually enchant it herself. she has not yet found the speed limit, as she can no longer hold on after around 200 miles per hour.

weakness: her magic, while incredibly powerful, is short in supply, and she runs out of magic quickly. when out of magic power, she can start using her own life force instead, but she can easily kill herself if she is not careful. by using Game Over, she can drain new fuel from either her opponent or items around her (plants work, although they have meager amounts of power), but if she takes too much, she can overflow with power and potentially explode. another danger with taking more than she needs is it starts to go to her head, and she can go mad with power.        while she can run and kick well, she has absolutely no upper body strength, and this more than often leads to problems. (falling off her broom: something that happens far more often then she likes to admit)

likes: playing not-so-practical jokes; blowing things up; sweets; being with her friends; annoying kira; the color green; flying; showing others up; winning; making light of extremely dark situations at the most inappropriate times.

dislikes: people being serious; being told to act like an adult; dogs; dark matter; blowing important things up; being reminded of her homeworld; falling; people making fun of her puffy pants

notes:

while she tries very hard not to show it, maja's experience possessed by dark matter left more than a few scars. she is absolutely terrified of the dark, and/or anything with only one eye. thus her first interactions with hiko were more than a little violent.

her ponytail puffs up when she is scared, not unlike a cat's tail.
