and here is the not-so-long awaited planet of the sentoki ([link])
i didnt really spend a lot of time on this pic, but the bio is a different story and im still not happy with it, not one bit
can you guess what the planet is meant to look like? (emphasize on meant)
anyone who can tell me where i got the name "shifting sands" gets a digital cookie.
the red symbol is the emblem of the sentoki, the clawed heart.
planet name: sand star
biom(s): desert, mountain, scrubland, forest, oasis
natural inhabitants: sentoki, bronto burts, kacti, nruffs, sandmen, puncs, etc
invasive species: various demon beasts
landscape: known as the Shifting Sands, the desert makes up almost all of the planets surface. occasionally, the sand gives way to cracked dirt and small scraggly bushes. sandstorms are common, and they can be soo mssive that they can be seen from sppace schorching hot for 3 of the seasons (winter is only mildly cooler) very few creatures are seen on its surface, save the occasional bronto burt. most creatures burrow under the ground and wait till night to emerge. there is no water whatsoever in the desert, save a few small springs that are buried underground. over the years of the war with nightmare, demon beasts have landed in the desert. most die upon impact, but the hardier ones have survived, and thrive in the harsh conditions. the already perilous desert has grown deadly, and anyone lost in it may find themselves unexpectedly in a giant centipedes jaws.
occasionaly dotting the desert, the rocky mountains are riddled with caves, and are home to many different creatures and demons. few have ever wandered in and survived.
around a large freshwater spring, the sentoki has literally built their land around them. by digging away the sand and channeling the water through the desert, they created a grassland for farming. suddenly hit with the rush of nutrient rich water, plants evolved rapidly into small trees, and eventually into a forest on the borders of the new grasslands. several small mammals inhabit the forest, and are hunted by the sentoki. the spring was carefully dug around, and turned into a massive lake. the weather in the oasis is far cooler than the desert, and while it doesnt get rain, fog and mist are common in the mornings.
weather: it hardly rains during the year, maybe once or twice. harsh winds blow just below the atmosphere, and keep almost all extraterrestrial beings out, and those who do make it though are blown into the desert.
resources: below the sands and in the mountains, huge veins of ore lace the planet. every few yars, the sentoki traverse the desert to get as much ore as they possibly can, and bring it back to their oasis to be melted into metal.
(and here are a few notes on the sentoki that i didnt put in my page for them)
the farm land is crisscrossed with small channals to carry water to the crops, which range from fruit trees to corn to potatoes, and etc. the sand from the desert, when melted, creates a cloudy but uncannily strong glass, and when mixed with dirt, it creates bricks for houses. houses are usually short and wide, and sometimes have an upstairs bedroom. all houses have a deep basement/cellar to store food and be a nice cool place to stay during the hotter seasons. wood is sparingly used, and most furnishings are made with metal or stone.
well, there is definitly more, but i cant think of it at the moment
