I think im going over the top with never-before-used species. has anyone else noticed that?
anyways, here is the bio for unaru, even though he has already appeared in my pictures. oh well, better late than never, I guess.
this guy went through loads of design changes, going from having little wings to wingless, owning a ridge of spikes down his back to just two horns, stripy to polka dots back to stripy. you get the idea.
I didn't really like the little button eyes that actual ice dragons have, so I changed to some more expressive one.
I suck at drawing ice breath. I just do.
he is friends with another of my FCs, bakuda. find her in my gallery, because im too lazy to put in a link.
not really sure if his adult form counts as a "super form" or not, as he is certainly not invincible like that.
species: ice dragon
quote: "Nya? Nya.
appearance: standing about as tall as fumu, unaru is covered with rough, light grey-blue scales. five stripes run down his back, down to his thick tail, and a single stripe runs down his forehead. his underbelly is a pale yellow-orange, as are his two horns. he has short, paw-like arms and feet, and large square-shaped eyes with dull red iris's.
when in his adult form, he grows as large as the original ice dragon, his scales turns a darker shade of grey-blue, his underbelly and horns turn brighter, and his eyes turn bright red. his muzzle elongates, as do his horns, and grey claws sprout from his arms and feet. his tail grows four curved spikes as well.
history: nobody is really sure how he got onto popstar, although some think the first ice dragon must have somehow layed an egg during its brief visit. yet however he got here, everybody knows that bakuda the gorilla found him by trying to eat him. (explained in bakuda's bio) after he hatched, he was quite flustered to find himself in a hot pan with a massive gorilla staring at him. even after he was plucked out of the pan (in a hand far larger than he was) he was understandably upset. but after he was offered a tasty apple, he decided that maybe the giant monkey wasn't so bad. the pretty lights that she would set off now and then didn't hurt either, even though the sound of them was quite obnoxious. he even took an interest in combining different material to create new colors, although they usually end in disaster.
personality: no one is really sure what unaru is always thinking, as he is unable to talk, and its doubtful that he would ever be able to. yet everyone can tell that he is remarkably intelligent. he seems to be always carefully appraising everything, in a slow, patient way, as if he is trying to determine whether it is worth his time or not. unlike bakuda's love for attention and a younger audience, he prefers to be with a more mature crowd (despite his age) such as adults, and recently fumu. he has a tolerance for playful children, although he will snap at them if they start to get on his nerves. usually he just stares coldly at said child until they grow bored of him. yet he does have his limits, and when he gets worked up into a foul mood, then he is positively... foul to be around. he glares at anyone who gets near and/or gushes ice mist at them. but he seems genuinely fond of bakuda, and puts up with her constant babying and cuddles. he tends to get frustrated easily when he doesn't understand something, or when other people treat him like an animal.
in his adult form, he becomes bolder, aggressive, and more short-tempered.
powers: like the original ice dragon, unaru has a powerful ice attack that he spews out of his mouth, instantly freezing anything unlucky enough to be in his way. one thing that often catches people off guard is his surprising speed. he simply zooms. (don't believe me? watch the episode. I think it was 22, give or take.) he is also quite heavy, and he has transformed glomping into a formidable attack. but perhaps his most notorious power is his ability to switch between his small, young form, and his massive adult form. as an adult, his scales become extremely thick, turning most blades and even some bullets. his tail becomes a serious menace, tearing through opposition, not to mention his highly upgraded ice breath, which is comparable to a small blizzard. he can stay in this form as long as he likes, although he finds his large size very inconvenient.
weaknesses: he tends to get tired easily, especially if he switches between his forms, and he has been known to take 72 hour long naps after reverting back to a child. as a child, his short arms make it extremely difficult to do really anything other than imitate a chicken, and while he can use his body as a battering ram (or a bowling ball) he has very little physical strength. in both forms, he is very vulnerable to fire, and his love for fireworks doesn't really help. he shares the same weakness as the original ice dragon, meaning he can still be frozen from the inside out. as an adult, he is incredibly slow and heavy, and also cant get up after he has fallen over (much to his distress). despite his thick scales, he still gets bruises easily, and any injuries that he has sustained carry over to his next form, be it adult or child. he also seems to have a weak immune system, and ironically catches colds very often.
likes: eating; sleeping; reading; being pampered (strictly by bakuda only); taking naps; throwing his weight around (literally and figurativly); watching fireworks; helping bakuda create new explosives
dislike: fire; being treated like a child; being compared to the original ice dragon; young children; constantly switching between forms; being sick; his inability to speak
unlike the original ice dragon, he cannot fire giant sharp snowflakes, nor can he create magical murderous snowmen.
he greatly dislikes being near kirby and/or meta knight, although nobody is sure why.
while many people think that he will end up like the last ice dragon and create an unending winter, unaru doesnt seem to show any demonic tendancies.
dedede has tried hiring unaru as a portable air conditioner. let it suffice to say that he went home with something slightly more severe than the chills.
